The origin of the Coconut plant itself is the subject of debate. Many authorities suggest an Indo-Pacific origin either around Melanesia and Malesia or the Indian Ocean, while others see the origin in northwestern South America.The oldest fossils known of the modern coconut date from the Eocene period from around 37 to 55 million years ago and were found in Australia and India. Coconut milk is made from Coconut meat. The dried coconut is combined with hot water into a blender. Once the desired consistency is reached, then the coconut milk has been made. The milk is of course strained to get the undesired particles out and then refrigerated.
